This comic from the Awkward Yeti seems to capture so much about how superfeelers and superthinkers might interact with difficult feelings, and use technology and social media. Who can relate to going on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat as soon as something felt difficult, boring, or anxious? Unfortunately, this behavior leads to constant numbing and ever-growing underlying anxiety. Maybe it means that all those feelings come out at once in a behavior that feels totally out-of-place and uncontrollable, or that you use other behaviors to stop the anxiety you feel. Either way, the avoidance of uncomfortable emotions becomes more and more problematic, as it cements into a seeming unbreakable pattern.

“True confession: I procrastinate! With The ACT Workbook for the Anxious Procrastinator, Dr. Z. helped me understand what drives my procrastination, and gave me practical tools to break the pattern.

This workbook goes beyond a surface-level approach to procrastination, addressing the deeper internal barriers, so we procrastinators can finally make real progress on those aa, looming tasks.”
