Seasonal Affective Disorder

Seasonal affective disorder is a form of depression also known as SAD, typically occurring in the fall and winter months, and resolving in the spring and summer.

A person struggling with SAD may experience loss of motivation, mood shifts, fatigue, increased sleep, loss of interest in activities you typically enjoy, and difficulty concentrating. 

When struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder, a person can withdraw from others, isolating, which can impact the person’s relationships. Feelings of sadness and loss of motivation can impact the person’s ability to complete everyday tasks such as showering and completing work tasks.
